GRATIA PLANTER BOXES designed by: Chris Collard
|
To keep up with the needs of modern interiors and landscape architecture, the building
materials for premium planters have become something of a science. The all-weather
Gratia Planters (first designed in 2001 and expanded in 2004) combine natural and
synthetic materials to create lightweight, sculptural forms that can be used both indoors
and out. Carefully made by hand, each pot is constructed from a fiberglass shell with a
natural metal finish applied over the top. They are then hand-polished to achieve a rich,
dimensional surface. Over time, the bronze pots will develop varying degrees of greenish on
the bottom for drainage. available at: designwithinreach.com

INSIDE OUT SUTHERLAND BY PHILIPPE HUREL Masterworks of Interior Design Move Directly Outdoors
|
There was once a line between indoors and outdoors, a line defined by the
sliding glass of the patio door. Indoors was the place for comfort, style and
design and outdoors always meant utilitarian, drip-dry and drab. No more.
That line has been erased forever as progressive French designer Philippe Hurel
partners with Sutherland for the introduction of Sutherland by Philippe Hurel,
a signature collection of sophisticated outdoor furniture crafted in teak.
This stroke of brilliance is as simple as it is bold: take the award-winning
interior furniture designs created by Philippe Hurel at his Paris studio,
and combine them with Sutherland’s expert craftsmanship in beautiful,
heirloom teak. Then employ these beautiful pieces wherever a stylish lifestyle
demands they be placed, any time of year, any place at home, inside or out

Black Lace Collection designed by: Rush Pleansuk + Decha Archjananun
|
Up-and-coming designers Rush Pleansuk and Decha Archjananun collaborated
on the design of the Black Lace Collection, which was inspired by the interplay
of light and shadow and the multitude of patterns found in nature. Master
weavers work diligently for 14 days to create the light and delicate weave of
Viro ™ Fiber that looks and performs strikingly like leather. The woven material is
artfully stretched over high-quality, EDP-treated, powder-coated steel frames to
create the light and airy yet deceptively strong furniture suited equally for in- or
outdoor use. available at: ladcodesigncenter.com
Cabanne designed by: Bestetti Associati for Paolo Lenti
|
Cabanne is a contemporary architectural structure, designed to be the ultimate
protection from the elements. The selected materials are metal and wood. The metal is
treated with innovative techniques to guarantee longevity and resistance to the
elements. The iroko wood has been purposely left untreated to allow its natural
evolution over time. Cabanne is a modular system, allowing for endless possible
architectural solutions tailored to the spaces, the situations, the requirements.
